GROWING LOCAL
Juneau Greens was established in July 2017 by Trevor Kirchhoff and John Krapek to provide fresh and healthy year-round produce to Juneau markets.
Growing food locally means improved quality and freshness at the grocery store as our produce is harvested the same day it hits the shelves. Rather than being shipped > 1,000 miles from down south, our produce is transported < 10 miles from our hydroponic farm in the Mendenhall Valley to Juneau markets and restaurants.
Our core goals are:
1) Freshness and Quality
2) Environmental Sustainability
3) Supporting the Local Economy
4) Competitive Pricing

Trevor Kirchhoff was born and raised in Juneau and has always had a passion for growing plants. Trevor started growing basil in 2014, which became immediately popular among Juneauites looking for local food options. Trevor recently moved to Anchorage to start Anchorage Greens, a partner business to Juneau Greens.
John Krapek came to Juneau in 2013 and noticed the opportunity for fresher, locally-sourced produce at the grocery store. He has a lifelong passion for gardening and all things plant related. After completing his Master's degree in forest ecology at UAF, studying yellow-cedar trees throughout southeast Alaska, he met Trevor and they began to talk about local food production.
Trevor and John's excitement for growing intersected and they started Juneau Greens in the summer of 2017.
